Son
of Robert and Sarah Ann Game; husband of Alice Louisa Clark (formerly Game),
of Melrose, Chelsfield Lane, Green Street Green, Farnborough, Kent. [CWGC]
Herbert
Game married Alice Louisa Symons, aged 25, the daughter of Henry Herbert
Symons, a Coast Guard Officer from Falmouth, at Blackmore, on 6th
October 1909. He was 29. [ERO D/P 266/1/12]. Their son Albert Edward Game was baptised
at Blackmore on 11th September 1910. [ERO D/P 266/1/11].
“In
1913 he was living in Green Lane Cottages, Ongar Road, Brentwood, the
birthplace of my Father”. [Colin Game, descendant]
“I
do not believe he ever actually lived in Farnborough, Kent. Herbert's wife certainly did live there
from about 1915 when she moved from Essex. I think she moved there (at about
or after Herbert enlisted) to be with her parents being pregnant at the time
with Herbert's last child. Her father was in the Navy and moved around
coastguard stations”. [Colin Game, descendant]
